The Llandoger Trow as built in 1664, a historic pub, one of the last timber-built buildings in Bristol. The name originates from the Welsh village of Llandogo on the River Wye. A trow was a flat-bottomed barge, and Llandogo is a village some 20 miles north of Bristol, over the Bristol Channel and upstream on the River Wye in South Wales, where trows were once built. The Llandoger Trow retains many of its original features following meticulously restoration. Many myths and legends of pirates and secret tunnels surround the pub. There are also claims that the top floor is haunted by the ghost of a young child who wore leg braces while alive. Apparently his loud footsteps can be heard in the attic. Nice spot for a drink then?
