Guide and Virtual Tour of Bristol: Temple Meads Station Ferry Landing.
Panorama | Review | Map
A short walk from Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station the ferry departure point offers quick regular water borne transport to the Bristol City Centre.
For our photographic trip we found the ferries invaluable - you can buy a day ticket and hop on and off at various points along the routes, and the drivers (pilots, captains!?) and onboard staff of the Bristol Ferry Boat Company were a great help, with local knowledge and courtesy, but then what could be more fun that pottering aboout on the river - for a living.
The boats are operated by Bristol Ferry Boat Company M.B Tempora Welsh Back Bristol BS1 4SP
The area around Temple Meads is undergoing massive redvelopment, as can be seen from the panorama. A new footbridge crosses the water at this point, but was not yet open for public use in September 2008.
